big sway bar with end links

Anyone know of a junkyard Sway bar that has end links not the 67-72 style that mounts directly to the a-arm . Looking for something that I can grab at a pull yard. Perhaps something in the 1 1/4 range.

Not sure of a wrecking yard jewel but I know of a new unit that's great 'bang for the buck'.

Bell Tech offers a 1 3/8" beast that uses end-links vs the the OE style bushings. I got one from Summit for less than $200. Comes to you powder-coated grey w/poly bushings.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

That's what I have. Very nice piece.... By the time you find a bar that may fit, buy it, replace all the bushings and then figure out how to mount it you'll be into it for $100 at least(assuming you find the right bar the first time). I know about the "built not bought" thing, but sometimes its just better to open up the wallet. On the other hand, I had thought about cutting a stocker big bar and fabbing tabs for endlinks. It may have worked, but I'd have always wondered if the next hard corner was going to be the one that broke it..... The belltech piece is really nice......

I've also thought about welding tabs on a bar that was "close" but I'm sure that weld would always be in the back of my mind

Sounds right. Summit had free delivery too since it was over $99.

Re: big sway bar with end links

If you could install a rack and pinion, a sway bar from 99-06 Chevy/GMC trucks will work. If you still have a stock steering box, the bar interferes with the idler and pitman arms.

Re: big sway bar with end links

Not to hijack the thread but what would be a good matching bar for the rear for the Belltech bar?

Answering my own question I guess, the matching rear bar from Belltech is a 1 1/8" rear bar number 5508. But the application is for an 85 C10 which is also a leaf spring truck. Not sure if the same size would apply to a rear coil truck or not ...

I have that bar too. It is about 31.25" thru the eyes and the bushing centers are about 25.25" wide. The bushings are about 14.25 in front/behind the eyes. The eyes have about a 6" drop from the flat part of the bar. Hope this helps

Big 1.25" stock bars are on 1 tons and some 3/4 ton trucks. If you get the stockers get the support rods that connect the crossmember and frame horns.

Sway bars are about balance so it's not always throw the biggest bar on the rear & it will be better. The lighter weight of the rear suggests using a smaller bar than the front would prob be better (if one is even needed).
