So my weekend project was to tear apart the 57 truck I got, everything down to the cab is done. So I have all my parts ready to go get blasted and primer coated. The cab will come later.
The other thing I added to my frame is a trailer hitch! - a hidden hitch sits behind my license plate boxed roll pan. I fabbed it out of a craigslist find that I got for $50.... I cut it down to size to fit my frame rail width and just behind the license box. I used the same mounting brackets in a different orientation though, I cut them to fit the frame flush with the top. Then drilled some mounting holes and transferred them to the frame. Drilled the frame to accept the grade 8 nuts and welded them into place. So its totally bolt-on! Another item off the list!!!

So I had a great idea for a license plate for my '57 PRO STREET build... but the DMV has other reasons for not allowing it to happen... anybody know why?

Well been working on the truck here and there getting all the nit picking things done. I have been working on the cab plugging firewall holes and smoothing the dash. This little stuff is very time consuming! lol
Have some front lower corners to repair, I think Im going to cut out the complete air vent system since I am patching the top grill over. Any body think that will be a problem? The bed is almost done too, will get pics up from it soon....

Thanks Guys for the comments....
The cab is still outside so I use a bit of rattle can primer to just keep the rust from coming back too quick!!! Its all gonna be blasted when its done and a heavy coat of prime put on then. More things done - rough-ed in the bed holes, rail ends and fitted some of the other parts. I have decided to go with new steps and rear fenders, just dont want to waste time and money on these to make them right. I did cut out the air vents, man that area collects alot of DEBRIS!!!! glad to be rid of them. Then I welded in new corners at the bottoms that were rusted out. I made my own patch panels like KEES does! thanks Buddy for the incentive.

Thanks Guys!!! and sorry for not getting in here much with updates, been travelling lots lately for work. But got a few more things somewhat completed, changed my mind about other things - I like not having a schedule!
I got the new rear fenders on for fitting and new steps. And then I put the front support on and the fenders so that I could fit the inner panels around the new suspension. First time set on the ground to get the stance set up.... Setting the cab is next!!!!! and BC heres a partial pic for ya.... on the tubs, still working them... Heres some more pics for ya'll

PTC great build, figure a way to get safety chains from the trailer to the truck. John Law might frown on no safety chains. Hate to mess up that roll pan. I don't have any solutions right now, just thought you might like to prep for a long shot what if, and get other opinions from this forum.
