Lowering ?

First of all I have to say thank you for all the great info on this forum. I purchased a '69 c10 long bed one owner about a month ago. I have it down to the frame and installed 4" rear coils from cpp that came in their kit with the trac bar, shocks and relocaters. My plan was to put 2.5" drop spindles up front but now I'm thinking I may want to go a bit lower. My question is if I put 1" drop springs up front can I use stock height shocks with them? Also I would have to put a 1" block in the back to keep things even so can I use the drop shocks for a 4" drop? Also if anyone can tell me if it's worth worrying about going from 2.5/4 to 3.5/5? I haven't figured out what wheels I'm gonna get or size. Any info would be appreciated on looks or ride comfort or anything.

Front shocks should be fine with 1" springs.I don't know the exact rear shock relocators you have.Do the rear shocks bolt to the axle or plates on the arms?

The relocators on the tops bolt in where the rivets were on the stock shock mounts. The lower ones bolt under the trailing arms on the bottom of the axel u bolt. It all came in a kit from cpp for dropping the rear 4".

A block will not change trailing arm position.So your rear shocks will work with any block you use.With a block your only moving the axle up NOT the trailing arm.

I really appreciate the info. Now the only question is if I want to go an inch lower. It's so hard to tell from pictures of other guys trucks.

New front springs are a must in my book.With the age of the truck they are probably tired.I would do front springs first.Then ,after you get the truck reassembled and you chose wheels and tires, stand back and see how it sits.Then you can chose the block and u-bolts you need to satisfy the stance you would like to achieve.

I have done the same drop springs on the rear with the shock relocation kit
also did the front spindle drop and a 1" drop coil
while you are there do yourself the favor and get new ball joints since you will be breaking them loose as well

I am for sure. I'm in the process of rebuilding the entire front end.

I know all trucks will sit a little different but is a 3.5/5 drop pretty even? I plan on running the same height tires front and back.

good deal
I did the same replaced all front end parts it was interesting to find the original upper ball joints still in the truck
the look on my truck looks pretty even but its just the cab on frame so might be a little different but i think its not going to be much
