Spring behind door jamb. Right side

Hey I have a spring inside the cab on the right side of my 72 Chev. Could somebody please tell me what’s it is for? It is a mystery to me. There is a big recessed Phillips head screw in the door jamb for it, so I know it is supposed to be there.

It is for retaining the original jack handle & lug wrench that would be stored inside a foam bag. Your spring is rotated 90 degrees downward from the way it would be normally. The large spring coil section would be facing the driver side.

Thank you. I definitely don’t have the foam bag. I could probably find a Jack handle and lug wrench. I have the Jack!!

You're one step ahead of where I was with my truck. All of it was missing.
