Carb rebuild

1972 C10. I-6 250 3 OTT

Not sure what carb this is, tag is stamped C-9182. Are there rebuild kits available for these still?

Re: Carb rebuild

Looks like a Rochester Monojet (1 bbl carb) Stock GM carburetor. Yes, kits are available.

Re: Carb rebuild

Is it best to get rebuild kits from the dealer or parts store? Will they have the same parts? I'm just wondering because I just bought a "large" carb kit from Cummins for my lawn tractor.

Re: Carb rebuild

I have the same engine. I bought a rebuild kit from NAPA and hired a local (old school private guy) to rebuild mine.

Re: Carb rebuild

That is a tag from an aftermarket rebuilder. There should be a number stamped on the body of the carburetor for selecting the correct kit.

Re: Carb rebuild

Check out Mike's Carburetor: http://www.carburetor-parts.com/

Great place to buy carb kits-don't know about shipping to Canada, though. Rebuild videos are on the site and are very helpful. I just rebuilt my MonoJet a couple weeks ago and they are very simple.
