Project "Freebie"

A friend of mine asked me last week if I knew anyone that would want an old Chevy truck. I'm more into old Fords, but told him I'd be glad to take it. He didnt want anything for it. Just needed it gone. He showed me a pic on his iPhone and it was a two-tone '72. Cool. I pulled my trailer over to haul it off and discovered some pretty good news. It's a '72 Cheyenne Super, big block, auto, factory a/c, tilt, with a posi rear end! It even has the nice houndstooth seat. The truck is all there minus an a/c compressor that he said was missing when he got the truck in '86. The dash isn't cut up or anything. It does have rusted rockers and the bed floor has seen better days, but the cab floor is solid. The truck hasn't been started in years, so we have the spark plugs pulled and some WD40 in the cylinders. Looks like we need to fix a starter wire and hit the key. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Re: Project "Freebie"

I have some pics on facebook. I'll find a place to host some pics. I bought some Wheel Vintiques Camaro style rallies and got the two put on the back last night. The wheels and tires that were on it were literally rotted off.

Re: Project "Freebie"

I put 7" on the front and 8" on the back. Found a leftover pair of 275-60-15's for the back. I'll be looking for a pair of 235-70-15's this weekend.

Re: Project "Freebie"

Here's a couple more. I have the ugly air cleaner in the garage. It'll get something a bit better looking.

Welcome! Can't beat free!!!

FYI (in case you didn't know...) If you ever change from the bb...all the accessories and rad/shroud/exhaust hangers/heat shield/etc are worth good $$$

Re: Project "Freebie"

It's sitting pretty high. I'll get the drivetrain in shape and do a 2/4 drop.
