Body work, what Icing/glaze?
I have a 68' longbox I just cut down to a SWB, I have a bulk of the filler work done with Rage Gold filler. I need to get some Icing or glaze for my top coat before I start spraying High build.
The last time I used it I didnt have great luck and was cussing it for being hard to sand. I dont mind spending more on something that will be easier to work with. What is the preffered product?

I just found what was left of the stuff I was talking about. It was the one you suggested. It was like concrete to sand, looking for something a little more friendly to use

Evercoat Metal Glaze. You can even mix a little Rage Gold in if you want a little thicker application.

Re: Body work, what Icing/glaze?
If Evercoat sold tv's I would buy one, big Evercoat fan.
Metal Glaze or Glaze Coat are literally the same product but a different color (had a tech from there tell me that) Metal Glaze comes blue hardener which is way easier to work with than the white hardener with the Glaze Coat. Here is a "Basics of Basics" on plastic fillers explaining my mentors "one last skim coat" idea that works amazing.http://www.autobodystore.com/ms21.shtml If you have finished your bondo off nice you don't need it, I personally use it about every time just as a method of applying it, bondo to rough it into shape, one skim coat of polyester putty like Metal Glaze and wham, read for paint ever time. But many bodymen don't use the skim coat at all so it's not a "must" by any means. If you feel that an application of primer would finish it off without asking the primer to "do too much" then you are good. If you would have to ask the primer to fill too much, applying it too heavy or what ever, then you need that skim coat. But on the same respect if this is a large repair with filler covering the bed side then a coat of polyester primer (again, Evercoat) "Slick Sand" or "Feather fill" could be a good choice being it IS like applying a skim coat of polyester primer, but without all the stripes you put in with a bondo spreader, on a large panel covered with filler or complex panels with bondo them like a tailgate or firewall, polyester primer is THE BOMB!
