Re: 1972 Gmc Short-Wheel Base 4x4

I believe that I read in another recent thread that we do not have a lot of specific production numbers to really clarify exactly how are rare a specific truck is. That being said, there were fewer GMCs, SWBs, and 4x4s. So considering that I'd say you at least have a well optioned, less common truck that most would find to be very desirable. I'm sure someone with much more knowledge than me will chime in and may be of more help.

Re: 1972 Gmc Short-Wheel Base 4x4

I plan on keeping the truck forever its a dream tuck of mine have spent 9 months restoring and really just wanna know if we can find it on here a ballpark guess on how many were made just so I can tell my friends and the judges at car shows and maybe put it on a plaque or something while showing. Any ideas would be great thanks again.

Dave K is yours a 4 speed truck? If so 3.73 was standard so wouldn't be on the option sheet. Love the green and white paint. Very cool it is a GMC 4wd shorty.

Re: 1972 Gmc Short-Wheel Base 4x4

Truck looks great! As for how many were built, I thought I read somewhere that there were around 6100 1972 Chevrolet SWB K10's, so probably far fewer GMC's

I'm also a little partial to the SWB 4x4's. This thing is taking me forever. This was a couple weeks ago

Wow amazing looking truck. I love that color. For me that might be the "perfect" truck, exactly how I would have ordered one or pretty close at least.
