I have a '68 step-side that I have installed a 2" dropped spindle and a CPP 3" dropped spring with 1/2 a coil cut-off. Truck sits great, but I am concerned with how close the lower control arms are to the ground. I don't have the budget for an aftermarket crossmember, so that is out.
My question is, does anyone make a "thinner" lower control arm or a tubular one that would give me a little more clearance?

As to your question I will guess that if you found a thinner one it may only be higher by a faction of an inch. But I would recommend reposting your question in the suspension section along with photos of how your current arm sits in relation to the ground. Someone there will know the answer for sure.

How tall are your front tires? I'd be looking to have at least a 27" tall front tire and go to 28" for a little more clearance.

bigger rims and tires for sure would do the trick. Post a pic though id like to see how low it sits with that combo.

i looking to do a 2.5" front drop once i find some spindles and my front springs are unknown but dropped some for sure

They are 27" tall.
