Sliding Back Glass Questions

I have a 72 cab that had the sliding back glass which I want to reuse.

Can anyone enlighten me on the proper gasket to order?

I believe it is considered the large back window, with trim. Precision has a seal for that, but they do not not specify the sliding glass assembly.

AND, one of the sliding panes is in upside down so that the etched glass logo is in the upper section of the pane and is upside down. That will drive me crazy.

Anyone one have advise on flipping the pane and if the thin seals are available that hold the glass in place?, where to buy?

Others will respond. I have a sliding rear window (Black Trim - Tinted glass). It takes the seal for the large window. Either with chrome trim or without.

Any comments on the pane replacement seals? or "How to"?

As Rufas indicated it will take the large window gasket.

This is a copy and paste from an earlier post of mine. (I was too lazy to re-type it)

"The gaskets look the same on the outside and the years will interchange as long as you have the correct gasket for the trim you have. The ’71/‘72 shallow trim has a 3/8 lip on it and uses the shallow groove gasket, and the ’67/’70 deep trim has a 5/8 lip on it and uses the deep groove gasket. In my experience the gasket with the deep trim is easier to install..... Put the gasket on the glass, then put the trim in the gasket, and install as a unit. You may have to put a few strips of masking tape around it to hold everything together until you are ready to install it.

I wouldn't buy the repo trim. From what I read it doesn't fit too well and makes the windshield almost impossible to install."

You mentioned that you have a '72 cab which would originally have the 3/8ths trim, but the picture looks like the 5/8ths trim for the '67-'70 trucks. Make sure you have the correct gasket for "that" trim....

All trucks with factory sliding glass windows came with a no trim gasket. No truck came from the factory with back window trim.

The glass runner channel is standard window component, but I'm not sure where tobuy such a thing. The companies that make such windows, RV, cap/canopy/topper windows buy the stuff somewhere. When I had my camper truck I had a huge RV supply catalog by Coast to Coast, the RV supply, parts, accessories supplier to all the dealers. Not sure if they are around, but a good RV dealership that services them could probably get you parts
