Headlights not working!!!

Just picked up a 67 C20 and the wiring is honestly a cobbled mess. Can't get headlights to come on with either the bright or dim mode and I don't believe there's a headlight fuse on these trucks (?). Any common things on these that could cause the headlights to not work? I'm absolutely not an electrical magician so to chase down the problem on my own could take forever. There's no taillights on the truck right now, could that cause an issue? I do get front turn signals though if that matters.

At some point I plan to replace the wiring harness but at this point I just want to get the truck road worthy ect before I REALLY tear into it. Here's a couple photos of Chloe!

Clean all you contacts at the switch, and put dielectric grease on them. Also clean all your grounds.

Re: Headlights not working!!!

Dimmer switch is most likely the culprit. Replacements are inexpensive

Dimmer switch as stated above. Had the same thing, replace and there you have it.

Re: Headlights not working!!!

Replaced mine on Monday and cleaned the grounds, lights work now, the wires corrode over the years on the dimmer switch.

Re: Headlights not working!!!

No fuse on the headlight circuit, it has a fusible link. I think that it is by the battery. You will see a wire of a different (smaller) diameter installed in the circuit to the switch. If you don't have a factory service manual, get one, or, IIRC, some really nice guy here has uploaded them for your reading pleasure.
