Re: converting door glass

47/50 came with one piece door glass. 51/53 came with the vent window. On a 51 that has the turn down door handles I'd probably just change the doors to the earlier doors and be done with it.

The 51 and up doors have this metal piece that has to be cut out to clear the one piece glass.

You can see on this 49/50 door how the metal channel that the glass channel runs in sets in the door. That metal piece is rather hard to come up with as they almost always seem to be missing from the doors.

I don't have photos of the insides of the doors to see if the way the regulator mounts is different but the two glass setups do use different regulators according to the vendors catalogs. That could be a problem with the glass going up and down correctly unless the master plan calls for electric windows.

Re: converting door glass

you're better off getting earlier doors if you can,,,if not , I did it in my build and do a search...there are a few others whodid great conversions..actually pretty easy now since they repop the channel..

Re: converting door glass

And you will also need the 49-50 window molding,Without the notch for the division bar.
