Rear shock mounts

Anyone have any easy tips on how to get rid of the rivets on a stock shock mount so I can install the shock mount relocater?

Re: Rear shock mounts

I use an air chisel to knock the heads off and drive the rest through the frame. You can also drill the head off. I drill a 1/8" hole through the center first then run a 3/8 through it and that get most of it.

Thanks Jimmy. Do you have any tips on how I can get the rusted coil spring bolts loose?

Re: Rear shock mounts

I spray them with PB Blaster and let em sit. Hit them with the impact and half the time they come off the other half they break off. Either way it does not take long. I always put new bolts in no matter what since for my stuff they are 50 years old and thats long enough and time to retire them.
