Part ID help: power steering bracket?

As best I can tell by searching online I believe this is a bracket for a power steering pump on 4wd pickups of these years and maybe early square bodies, maybe for an SBC? Seems to match the appearance of GM part number 6272729, but the cast numbers on my part are illegible. The only thing I can make out in the casting is “GM”. Please add to, correct, or confirm these details if you recognize it—thanks!

I received it in a set of SBC A/C compressor brackets, realized it didn’t belong after I had cleaned and painted it.

Re: Part ID help: power steering bracket?

Missing a steel plate that bolts to this cast bracket, the steel plate goes against the block spacing it out about 3/16
