Waiting on headliner and carpet guy , just put in front seat's so i can get to him when he's ready. Put hush mat on floor's and on roof.

Re: My 1963 ss impala

Nice ride that brings back memories. When I was in college in 1969, a friend had a 63 SS convertible (327 automatic) that he and I and 2 other friends drove from Penn State to Ft. Lauderdale for spring break. We stayed at my aunts house, so we had no motel charges. We split expenses 4 ways, and my total cost for gas, food, drinks etc. was $49.00.

Re: My 1963 ss impala

I'll be following this thread. The '63 is my favorite of the '62-'64 generation Impalas. I love the black paint on your car because you don't see many '63s in that color. I would bolt on a set of vintage 15" straight spoke Torq Thrusts (unpolished spokes) with some redline tires and it would be perfect! It would look like a street machine circa 1963!

I love the 'Vette Rallys with the flat caps, too. I used to run that combo on almost every vintage Chevy I have ever owned. Back in the day, you would have to pull the caps off every time you stopped because everybody wanted them and they would get swiped in a hot second. That was before the time when they started remaking them, and they were a 1yr only (1967) cap and super rare. The best looking Rally wheel cap they ever made.

Re: My 1963 ss impala

Thank you, I like the simplicity of the upkeep of the rally wheel's, and easy to balance and get tire's mounted without some one breaking them. I've thought about 17'' polished torque thrust's in the future but for now these will work .

Re: My 1963 ss impala

wheel's are standard offset as off a corvette 15/8 and bf goodrich 255/60 /15 series with letters turned in.I had the same car new in 1963 except new one had 2 speed wiper's ,this one has single and no washer's, and new had single right rear antenae ,and this had rear dual's ,which i deleted left rear. Otherwise both were black with black interior ss model's with 327 /250 hp , 4 speed . Yeah, i know all the cost involved in building these car's. I can show you all my record's of all part's i bought and i have $25,000 in it not counting my labor doing a frame up.

Beautiful car. I see a cornbinder lurking. My first car was a 77 w/304 and 4-speed that came with under-dash AC.

Re: My 1963 ss impala

Wow I thought all SS were 300hp , My antenna is up on the pass. fender has power brakes but no P.S. Weird how they built some of these some had PS but no power brakes, some had no power . Nice not seeing it made into low riders though thats a plus

Re: My 1963 ss impala

I like this car. A friend that I worked with bought one exactly like this from Nalley Chevrolet in 1963. He drove hard and kept it torn up a lot until it finally got stolen in 1965.
