DANA 44 Identification help

I am trying to determine what year axle I have on my 1970 C10 that was converted to a K10. I know it’s a DANA 44 from looking at the front pinion cover but I cannot find a BOM number anywhere after wire brushing the entire axle the only numbers I could find were on the top right of the pumpkin which is 38335 and has a 1 above it. Bottom right corner of pumpkin says 44-8F and on the long tube side of axle next to the pumpkin there is a lone 2 then a few inches down
3 22 6 7CE is stamped on the axle. If it helps the knuckle has A3R35 stamped as well. Any help is appreciated Thanks guys

Re: DANA 44 Identification help

Chances are the gears are original. If so, they will have a date code on them which should at least get you close enough to get parts like bearings and seals and brake parts.

I assume it is a disc brake axle? What do the locking hub knobs look like? Pictures?

Re: DANA 44 Identification help

Need better pics than that! The numbers on the casting are meaningless foundry casting codes. Heres a link that may help. Pop that cover off like Mike C indicated and post a pic of the numbers on the outside edge of the ring gear. http://www.differentials.com/technic...dentification/
