Re: Look What's Coming Home Tomorrow!

Previous owner had engine/trans unbolted, so I am going to go through the engine/trans before anything. He was going to put a Pontiac 455 in it! It is actually in real good shape, so I will clean it up and drive it!

Great find, congrats! The '67 models are so cool with their unique features among this series of trucks.

Poncho power would be cool. No shortage of low rpm torque there. I guess the 455 did not come with?

On another note, I would say you are cornering the Burb market in the mountains of Northern Cali.

Re: Look What's Coming Home Tomorrow!

Pontiac 455 didn't come with it, which is fine. I prefer SBC! Took the heads off yesterday, going to pull short block out today. Spent some time last night figuring cam combos. What do you guys think about running a solid cam?

Re: Look What's Coming Home Tomorrow!

Now I know why he was pulling the engine from Paloma-cracked block! It's had a recent rebuild, and the pistons are good(.030), so now begins my search for a SBC!

I have a friend here in Vacaville who has a 307 he wants gone. It ran with a rod knock when it came out of a 68(?) short wide.
