Question about OEM AC Condenser

I have a chance to buy a used OEM AC condenser and I was wondering if this would be as good as an aftermarket original style all aluminum replacement condenser, such as this one sold on ebay? The OEM would be cheaper, but I am not even sure what to ask the seller to ensure it is in workable condition.

There is no way to tell if it is in working condition until you flush it and pull a vacuum on it to see if it leaks. If this aftermarket one is very close to original than I will use one, if not I will use the OEM one I have.

Since I can't really check out the used one before buying it, it sounds like it could be risky. Thanks

If your not doing a factory correct resto than yoyu can use whatever fits. With 134A refrigerant the bigger the condenser the better, the one in my suburban I believe is a mid 90's cavalier from Carquest.

I have another question about an AC condenser. Would the parallel flow condenser shown here be more efficient than the OEM condenser on my 66? Has anybody used this product?

You're right. Not a OEM. The ebay one is also all aluminum made to same size and shape of original. Would this be better than OEM?

Did you have to do much retrofitting, hole drilling, cutting etc. to make the cavalier condenser fit?

No, just made some brackets for it, the important thing with 134A is condenser surface area , the more the better. The new condenser design is better than the old 60's design.
