Need 1952 Chevy ¾ ton pickup help (Tension Post and Spring (Drum Brakes))

I have a 1952 ¾ ton pickup. I am extremely new to working on vehicles and new to this site. I am really having trouble getting parts and guidance so I was hoping the people who share my passion for old trucks can in some way help. I am not even sure I am describing this correctly….. I believe this is a tension post and spring from my front drum brakes that mounts the shoes to the backing plate. Can someone help me to properly identify the correct name? And, does anyone know where I can get some? The previous owner had a bolt in the other side… I don’t think I want to stick with that route. Any help is much appreciated!

And it looks like there is a lock on the backside and possibly a spacer?

Thank you so much for your help. I do not believe there is a spacer. Would you happen to know how I could acquire some of them? I have been looking and no one seems to have any available. I also saw your Build, it is great that you have the right equipment and room to completely disassemble your truck. I'm sure it will be awesome!

Thanks!!

It is probably a long shot, but the picture came from this book and those are the Chevrolet factory part numbers for each piece.

Maybe somewhere, there is a box on a dusty shelf with those parts still in it...of course could win the lottery as well, I mean there IS a chance!!!

Good luck!

Your first picture has the lock on it and it does not hold the shoe to the backing plate it is a pin, spring and lock that holds the upper part of the two links to the shoes. No new parts are available. When we convert these to disc brakes sometimes we keep parts from the old brakes if their good. I'll have to look tomorrow and see if we have any of the pin, spring and lock.

As a long shot, maybe you could upgrade to later year front backing plate and shoes, unless you are trying to keep everything period correct.
I am not sure if the axles are the same on a 3/4 T and 1/2T for the mounting holes for the backing plates.
Just a thought
