Re: Epoxy Primer ?
Scuff a little and go right on over the top of the epoxy primer. That is one of the benifits of the eprime, there are many. Once you do get your filler work done and you go to prime the areas that have been filled or if respraying a whole panel, go to the fill spots first and cover them before doing the rest of the panel. You will see why once you spray. The eprime soaks into filler at a different rate andlooks a lot different on the filler than it does on the metal but that is normal and the extra coat will help take care of that. Jim

Re: Epoxy Primer ?
Evercoat[Iam sure others do as well but Evercoat is the one I have used] has a great two part putty that mixes like filler and spreads easy also sands like butter[for those of you that know what butter sands like]. It also dries quickly. Overall Iwould rate it a very helpful product to have in the shop. Also another plus to it, you can put it on a scuffed surface, like you have a clearcoat scratch that is deep. You can scuff up the clear and then put on the putty no need to grind all the way down to metal as with conventinal filler to get it to adhere. Jim

Re: Epoxy Primer ?
Rage Extreme, feather it out then I like to bury the filler in another coat of Epoxy. Block it 220 / Red Scotch brite back flat then 2x or 3x coats of regular high build primer.

Re: Epoxy Primer ?
Yes it is the evercoat upper end filler. A lot of people really like it, I have not used it, it is expensive. A word of caution however stay away from the cheap dollar store stuff as most of it isn't nonstaining or stain free. I bought a gallon of some "reasonably" priced filler at my local NAPA store when I used them years ago[for those of you remember that back story] and got a deal on some filler , may have even bought a case. The first truck I fixed with it was a 89 Silverado white[at that time I could pick and choose what I would build, and they had to be red white or black] and the day after I pulled it out of the booth I noticed some spotting showing up and more and more. Well after a few days every place that had filler looked like you could have taken a yellow marker and hilighted it filler stain! ARG!! so beware of the cheapest of the stuff. This that I am speaking of was not the cheapest out there but a new product but it didnt last on the market very long it that formulation

Re: Epoxy Primer ?
I think I paid somewhere in the $60 range for a gallon of Rage. The 'Rage Gold' is good too. It really sands out nice. Pretty much anything Evercoat is going to be top notch. They have a product called 'Icing' ? ?? Something like that ? It's a really nice finish putty.
I hear the Quantum 1 is really good too but I have not tried it.

Re: Epoxy Primer ?
There are different levels to the evercoat brand, similar to the Chevrolet brand. You can buy an Aveo and still have a chevy but it is not gonna perform like a vette. Or maybe even a Impala or Malibu so you see different levels all the way from top tobottom b ut generaly I feel that you can trust the brand name of Evercoat for your filler needs. Jim
