electric oil sending unit on 454 ?

I changed my oil sending unit from man. to electric on a older 454 but there is no way I can tighten it. Is by the oil filter and no way to put it anywhere else. I was thinking of a strap like a oil filter wrench to tighten it,any suggestions on how to make one.

An old fan belt or a belt you hold your drawers up with will work.

If you can get your fist around it, I would just tighten it by hand. Wrapping anything around the can can damage the diaphragm inside if you kink it. Why can't you get a wrench on the hex?
