creative solutions to block/hide old west coast junior bracket holes?

I'm looking for a solution to block off the holes where once screws went through the doors for mounting west coast junior mirror arms. The doors are original pure white paint which I don't want to tarnish. Thought maybe the plastic plugs inside melamine kitchen cabinets that the shelf brackets press into.
Your exprriences or thoughts?

Just toss a nice nickel finished screw in them.
You could paint the screw heads if you really wanted to match the door colour

A great solution I've used is a threaded rivet painted to match before install. Often the large holes from mirrors are distorted or " volcano-ed", which complicates the install a bit as they need to be brought back down first. Flatter holes almost disappear with the small, low-crowned heads blending in.

Works on any extra holes, like from dreaded bedside hooks.
