Well, that changes things considerably. Not sure I'd start hacking on LCas too much- the entirety of the truck's weight is riding on those bushings...

I already drilled my crossmember for the mounting bracket... the LCA's are holding it up between 3/4" and 1"... dont know if I can grind that much off. Tried putting the truck on the ground to see if it changed anything, not really it was about the same if not worse. Hopefully Rob will see this post if not Ill have to call on monday. I like the rack! I already bought the joint and DD shaft to complete the steering to the column.

does this mod assume/require the truck owner would/to already have upgraded to full tubular UCA's and LCA's?

I have tubular uppers but still running OEM LCA's...so I'd be in the same boat. I'd think some of it could be cut off...enough to clear that rack tho... I don't know.

This is the original acticle for the rack read the whole thing, I never saw anything that said you have to have tubular lowers. Maybe a miss on my end, maybe it was designed without thinking of factory lowers. Im not mad about just disappointed.

76Stepside I checked our install files, and all of the 73-87 C-10's we've done here had aftermarket arms. We'll do whatever we can to solve this. (including full refund if needed) It looks like you need to drop the rack appx. 3/4". If the majority of the rack is behind the A-arm bushing, trimming the arm may be an option. I have contacted a local wrecker, and will have a stock 73-87 shell monday a.m. so we can see the same thing as you. Please PM me you cell # so I can get in touch with you asap. thanks.

76stepside, I did a similar conversion about 5 years ago and ran into the same issue with stock lower control arm. You can modify the bushing area to make it work. You will need to press out the bushing in the front of the LCA.

Can you guys check the bolt length. We spec it as 5/8" x 3 1/2" in a pick list. Is that what you got? We'll be glad to send you the right length bolt asap. please let us know.

awesome glad to see some of these being installed. I sure wanted to get in on these but money was (is) tight I will do this eventually.

BTW everyone Im keeping the rack, even if I end up getting tubular LCA's. The rack is defiently nice!

I got my rack today! Yipppee!

Even thought I was kinda worried when it showed up....

But everything appears to be okay and no threads on the inner tie-rod look to be messed up. So all good.

I set out everything and read the directions so I can start getting my hoses and other goods together.

While reading through the directions I noticed that it seemed like I was missing a couple bolts for the outer tie-rods. So I made a quick call to No-Limit and he said that he would send them out today. Also including a longer bolt for attaching the rack to the bracket.

This is a really nice piece and I cannot wait to get everything installed in my truck..

We'll I have to admit that we made a mistake with the rack mount bolts. They should have been four inch, grade 8 bolts. We did figure out how it went from 4" on our hand written spec sheet to 3 1/2" on the computer pick sheet, but thats not important. Everyone who has purchased a kit has now been mailed a shiney new bolt, the typo was fixed, and one of our staff got 20 lashes. All better now. Thanks to everyone for thier support.

That is what I like to know to. Like to do this upgrade but hope to use my stock arms. This will make it more easy fore me to pass the Norwegien DMV test every second year....

Well, we have sold more than 50 kits so far. I sure would like to see some updates as well. The fix for 73-87's with stock arms is done. It took three steps. 1. We had to change the mount bracket. 2. We need the installer to move the lower arm 3/4" forward. This is an easy mod, and helps with the caster angle, and wheel placement. 3. A small amount of material needs to be groung off of the A-arm. I don't have any pict's of this currently, but a friend is installing one this weekend, I'll ask him to take some and post them up.
