'04 silverado - cruise, dimmer, washer switch

Ok, I have been having some strange things going on with the wipers and now they will go from intermittent to full time on their own. I have also noticed that the brights will onoly come on with the "FLASH to Pass" side of the switch. These problems all go away if I shut the trcuk ignition off and restart. I assume that this problem is not located aty the module/circuit board that I 've read about being mounted to the wiper motor becasue of the problems that I am also having with the lights.

I am on my way out of town for an extended trip(with this truck) so today I bought a new multi function switch. I would like to know more about replacing this switch from anyone that can help. Do I need to pull the wheel? If so, I have heard that it will require a special "hooked" puller?

Thanks ion advance!
Scott

Did you ever get this figured out? I'm about to change the switch in my 04. The youtube video only shows a 99-02. The drive by wire started in 03 I think so I don't know what might be different.
