Need info about three point belts.

I would like to go with three point seatbelts in my 72 now that I have factory stock bucket seat's and console installed. Does anyone no if late model Chevy truck belts will bolt in?

Re: Need info about three point belts.

I have read that some S10 belts will fit.... not sure about with bucket seats though.

Here's another option for new USA-made belts available through this board http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=657298. These are what I bought last year and I'm very happy with them.

It's the route I recently took in my bucket seat+console truck.

Re: Need info about three point belts.

I purchased a set from a forum provider to go with my 72 factory buckets and console. They appear to be the same as those from seatbeltsplus.com.

To make them work best, I used a 90" elbow bracket from andoauto.com p/n rb6 1.5" long "L" bracket to secure the male end to the floor. Without that bracket (or something like it) the male end did not bolt up or position well between the console and seat. Inexpensive ($8) and made a difference.

This is may be tmi (too much information) but it's my experience:
You may also want to check out the seatbelt offerings from andoauto.com - Andover Restraints, Inc. (or others) They are a very comprehensive mfg./distributor of all kinds of seatbelt systems and are the provider for many of the brands you will find out there.
I'm glad I went to a 3pt. system and would not go back, but... the buckling action with the GM looking clasps and logo is not nearly as smooth as my originals. Perhaps the aviation or generic pushbutton will have a better action. The retractors as well are a little "catchy" that may get better with time, but hopefully there is a better system out there. A lot of these belts are assembled in USA and had some USA components but still have some or all off shore parts...

Re: Need info about three point belts.

I installed the ones from LMC. Took some head scratching but they're fine once installed. You need an additional floor hole for the retractor but I ran that through the seat track and brace, so it should be plenty strong.
