stepside to fleetside bed conversion

Im 21 and looking to a 1969 C-10 short bed. Ive came across some 1969 stepside trucks and noticed some were cheaper then a fleetside truck. My question is will a 1969 fleetside short bed fit on a 1969 step side short bed factory truck? thanks

Re: stepside to fleetside bed conversion

They do but clean short fleet beds used are very hard to come by. I literally ordered a new repop one today from southern Kentucky classics (a board sponsor) it was $2900 shipped, which I’m happy with. so you need to weigh that cost plus painting it, and it may be cheaper to just buy the truck you want.
