Rear end identification.
I was told this is s10 blazer 4x4 rear. It has all new brake parts. Properly cleaned painted. Was told he counted turns 3x and came up with about 3.5 each time. I believe it is likely 3.42. Can any of you gurus tell me any more info for my record book year etc. From these pictures. It is not posi.

Doesn’t really look like a 7.5 but pics throwing me off. Thought maybe Jeep but says GM right on it. What’s the bolt pattern? Shock spring mounts?

Take the cover off. Check out the numbers on the ring gear. Take tape measure and measure. Be careful not to get your hands dirty.

It’s 7.5/7.625”. A 88 will have drum brakes. A 98 will have disc brakes.
The 8.5/8.625” came equipped on 4.3 5 speed equipped s10 an blazers. They also came on all ZR2 models. The axle tubes are necked down and very easy to identify. |

and the zr2 axle is 3in wider than a standard s10
