Project "WALT" aka '71 daily driver

Hey guys and gals! Had this pickup for a pole years now. Grandpa bought it new off the lot in 71. Been in the family since! Not looking to cut it up, but build a bad ass custom daily driver. This is my "daily" so I'll be building it as I drive with only 2 days ( days off) being most I can afford having the truck out of commission. Specs of truck. 1971 custom deluxe, a/c cab, swb, 350, 3 speed column shift, med. blue/blue interior. Straight and interior is clean! Best part is RUST FREE!!!,! Been garage kept since new.
I've lowered it already using 2.5 drop spindles and half a coil cut out up front. With the back using a 2 inch drop block, jeep coils, shock relocators, and super trac bar. All ECE products. Still has the original non rebuilt motor in it showing 125,000 and original 3 speed. Motor runs decent enough could use a new carb or rebuilt and a new clutch. Plans are a auto trans and rebuilt or crate motor. Ordered the trans xmember from cpp and a new brake master/booster other day. Also thinking about installing a airbag set up, just for the adjustability. I've had bags on all my kustoms(60s and 50s) so that's what I'm used to. But wanting to keep it that mostly stock 70's custom look. Maybe throw on some pinner white walls on it with the Chrome smoothies on it now. Here it is!

Re: Project "WALT" aka '71 daily driver

Nice! Similar story to mine. But mines not nearly as in good of shape. Same plans for mine as well. Would love to hear how well having a manual bag set up is working for a DD. I hear bad things.

Thanks,
A.W.

The manual airride set up is working out ok. The DLOE valves are just great. Solid and no issues at all. In the future i want to go with a accuair setup. When the cash allows. I also have picked up a porterbuilt dropmember. just nned to get some control arms and a rack, and that will be going in. The back going to use a KP weld in step notch and move the bags behind the axle.
