You can't have a 6 banger thread with out posting pics from Lucy. This was in n2billet's sweet red 68.

Re: Tricked-out Chevy six cylinder engines

This thread ALMOST makes me want to go the opposite way and swap from a V8 to an I6. If I had an I6 in mine, I definitely would not swap it out, I've always loved the ones I've owned. Very cool engines in the pics here, please keep 'em coming.

Re: Tricked-out Chevy six cylinder engines

This is one of my dad's 6 cylinders. It's a 250 with a 292 crank, 350 flat top pistons, and 400 rods.

I'll post the video of his 292 on the engine run stand later tonight if I think about it.

Not to perfection but getting there, Mercruiser boat cam, Clifford hot water heated intake, Eldebrock 1404, cast iron headers from Tom Langdon's Stovebolt. And it's a 230 cu.in a GMC....Vernski

This is my dad's other 6 cylinder. It's had A LOT of work done to it. Not sure how to embed YouTube here, so I'll have to just post the link.

Lucy has the best engine bay IMO. I remember the first time those pics were posted. I love that truck and the engine bay is perfect.

If I remember correctly, I bought it from a guy on eBay. I think he sells quite a bit of 6 cylinder performance parts for 6 cylinders, or did at one time.

Heres mine, 230...pretty much stock with some split headers and a offy intake and valve cover. Anyone know what breather will fit the Offy valve cover?

Well Derek, it's not looking good for the guys I got the valve cover from. Here's a website I found that shows a "Going Out Of Business Sale". Notice the top row of pictures, 4th picture over, looks like a stack of 6 cylinder valve covers. Hopefully they still have some !!

http://www.lockintool.com/machinery-for-sale/

And here's their contact info, if they're still in business.

http://m.manta.com/c/mm200b7/precisi...e?page=company

I sure hope that helps. Let me know what you find out.

EDIT ! I called the number for the contact info just out of curiosity and a guy answered the phone ! It was the owner's son working on some of his personal stuff. He said his dad has been talking about retiring for a while and he thought he had sold the molds for the valve covers, but wasn't sure if he had any of them left, so he told me to call back Monday after about 8:30am. Good luck !!
