Best New Windshield source?

Truck is almost ready for paint and I’d like to get a new windshield ordered up. I want to keep it stock looking so going for a clear windshield. Seems the tinted with upper shaded portion are most common.

Can anybody recommend a good vendor and brand to look for? Truck is a 1964.

The one clear windshield I did find is made by the company, FY. Which is apparently Chinese junk...

I'm not sure who makes it in the US. Auto city classic could probably answer if you called them.

Thanks ya that is actually the place that sells the FY clear windshield. It’s $99 plus $160 to ship to my PO Box.

Have you used their windshields in the past? Reviews are always good. Im concerned about getting a distorted windshield because returning it won’t be an option.

Re: Best New Windshield source?

I just bought my glass from Auto City Classic. The windshield and back glass fit perfectly. The thickness of all six pieces were within a few thousandths from factory.

The overall size of the flat glass is also fairly close to factory with an average 1/16" smaller. The corner radii are a tad larger too. All the dimensions are smaller and close enough IMO to work fine. If the side glass were bigger in size I might be a little concerned until I could install them.

Re: Best New Windshield source?

I had Safelite order the glass and gasket and installed. Looks great and doesn't leak.

Re: Best New Windshield source?

On 64 should be a lot easier for a good fit. On 63 etc the gasket is important too... A year ago i used a Precision and wan't that impressed. My glass man said he likes the gaskets from LMC. The glass was Pilkington, but I think its from Mexico now.

Re: Best New Windshield source?

When replaced mine a few years ago, went through 5 windshields before got one that didn't delaminate after a couple of days. All were Pilkington. The installer would get them into his shop and after a few days they would start to separate. Ended up that Pilkington not only did not charge me but also paid the installer.
