Looking for pic of 60-66 k10 bellhousing crossmember

I've got a '63 k10 frame that's missing the bellhousing crossmember. I haven't seen one before, but my frame still has the mounting brackets riveted in on each side. They have 4 holes in each of them like the crossmember just bolts right up to it unlike the 2wd trucks that had the crossmember riveted directly to the frame. Let me know if anyone has a picture of one, so I can use that to start searching for what I need.

Thanks
Just out of curiosity, I can’t tell from the pics, but was your pto hole factory or a previous owner mod?

Dang, that's a big PTO hole. I didn't think about it, but I guess I'll need to do one on my '62 K10: I've got an NP205 and a PTO winch set-up for it. Given that everything is pretty much rigidly mounted, the hole probably doesn't need to be that big.
Is you're gusseted or reinforced?

You wont need to go through the crossmember if you put a flange bearing there and u-joint and run the shaft under it like I did mine.

Re: Looking for pic of 60-66 k10 bellhousing crossmember

My pto is on the sm420 not t/f case which puts the u-joint partly in the hole. Also where my winch is positioned in the bumper, levees not much room above the front axle.

this tk was a search & rescue tk years ago. The rear bumper (home made) had chain slots cut into it so the tk could be chained to a tree. T/f case in neutral, trans in granny, you get the idea.

Mine is also on my sm420 but I have a ranger overdrive so it gives me 7 1/2" extra room that I forgot about until you posted.
Also transmission gear position should have nothing to do with PTO operation as it works when engaged even when the transmission is in neutral.

I don't know a bunch about the difference gear ratio's between the two would be in pulling power. How do you like the ranger? A pic of my winch, has a 9" drum.

Re: Looking for pic of 60-66 k10 bellhousing crossmember

The ranger has been in the truck for the last 18 years and has given me no problems but they do have there quirks. They have a gear noise in overdrive and also make the syncros in the sm420 work harder, you just have to let the rpm's of the transmission gears get right to shift.
If i were buying an overdive I would go with an NV4500 though.

Re: Looking for pic of 60-66 k10 bellhousing crossmember

I've got a divorced NP205 (from DieselDude, which came with the Bradenton winch, too), and a 833 4spd OD manual trans. Had the same trans in my '61 Suburban. I figure with the 4Lo in the t-case, I probably don't need the Granny low of the factory 4-speeds.

Brad that's probably true about the granny gear. A friend of mine had one of the 833's in his 80's chevy diesel 4x4. should be fairly strong. Would like to see how you mount the Dodge t/f case so post up when mounting.

I can't remember if he said it was Dodge or International Harvester... either way, I really scored because it came with the crossmember for it.
I'll no-doubt have to modify it to fit the frame, but that'll be a ton easier than trying to adapt the wrong cross member to the T-case.

All the body panels have gone to the blaster and are primed, the cab is at the body shop getting the very little bit of work needed to make it right.
I've got to strip the frame and get it started--I can handle welding and fab work for the frame, but don't have the patience for body work.
I'll probably start the frame stuff in the next couple months (after finishing my nostalgia Altered drag car)

1970 international 3/4 ton Brad, and I don't think you will have to modify anything only drill holes because the frames are the same width if I remember correctly.

I don't know on the Dodge. I only know on the international because I measured the frame befor removing the transfer case.
Than I ended up selling it to Brad.
