Chrome glove box door done

I recently got my glove box door back from the chrome shop. Today I taped up the edges and went through the nerve racking process of sandblasing the freshly chromed center part to allow the paint to stick. Then I painted the center with wrinkle finish black paint to match the instrument cluster. It looks awesome . Matches the instrument cluster perfectly. I havent decided if I want to put the Chevrolet script chrome plastic thingy on the glove box door yet.

If you ever get the glove box chromed . Make sure you tell them not to spend much time prepping the center. The edges are what need the prep work and they will charge for the prep that you end up blasting away.

Hmm, sounds to me like you should leave it smooth, without the Chevrolet thingy. I just think that it would look less clustered, like it is clustered in a big truck.
But, make it the way you like it and forget what other people think.

I want to see pics too, sounds really nice.

Sounds cool, would like to see a pic also. My buddy has a chrome shop, I could get him to just do the edges and save the time and trouble of getting the chrome off.

Leavin it all chrome is a PITA...you can't keep the finger prints off of it. And it was not all that uncommon when i was cruising with mine all chrome, that the sun would reflect off of the chrome and right into my eyes. (not good)
Here is mine.

I'll take a pic tomorrow. I used VHT "krinkle" finish paint in the can. Then I baked it uder two halogen lamps for 2 hours. Turned out great.
