I bent something....

Friday night I rode up to Daytona & cruised A-1-A. Big nighttime show at Bellair plaza every year on the Turkey Run weekend. No top, big moon 'bout 70 deg., REALLY nice Blazer ride. Walked around and looked at cars & trucks for a couple of hours & headed home. I guess I'm getting old & blind 'cause I ran the driver's side wheels onto a low concrete median at about 45mph. Sounded awful but I don't see any damage. If I turn loose of the steering wheel going 30 or so it rocks back and forth a quarter inch or so and it didn't do that before. Going to put it on the lift this evening and look at it good.

Re: I bent something....

Damn. Sorry man. Bent some linkage or the rim got tweak. a quick wheel balance will rule out rim issues?

Re: I bent something....

The only thing I see damaged is the inside rim of the driver's side front wheel. Probably didn't do the alignment any good. I don't see any damage or bulges on the tire or a bent tie rod. Next question is can a T.T.2 rim be straightened? Guess I'll find out tomorrow.
here's the inside of the rim:

Re: I bent something....

TTII wheels are the easiest wheel in the world to bend, I think. I have bent so many of mine I stopped caring! Lol I have had them professionally straightened and also beat them back with a big hammer. Price of building a driver with really short sidewalls I guess.

[QUOTE= beat them back with a big hammer. [/QUOTE]

I'm encouraged to hear that they can be beaten straight.. but this first time I think I'll seek professional help... maybe they'll let me watch 'em.
Thanks LS1 Nova

Re: I bent something....

I got the rim straightened today, took 'em about 20 minutes. I didn't get to watch how he did it. Dismounted the tire, fixed the rim, remounted and balanced the tire for $95. I put it back on the Blazer this evening and it's SMOOTH
Happy ending.
