I'm about to embark on a project over the holidays. It started with a steering column replacement and has grown......

Project: Replace steering column, steering wheel, power steering rack (leaking), steering shaft, steering u-joints, power steering hoses, adjust the pressure in the GM power pump to match the MustangII power rack, replace reservois, move ignition switch, move A/C controls.

I will post a photo diary if anyone is interested? Probably start the project Monday or Tuesday.

Well...I did a terrible job of keeping a photo jornal of this project! I have some finished pictures and will post them very soon. This project grew from a "Christmas project" to a "Winter project"....I decided to bag the truck with AirRide's Shockwaves at each corner and the RidePro E controls! To do this I changed the rear leaf spring suspension to a height's 4 bar setup with panard bar! What a huge difference! I also c-notched the frame. I will be refinishing the wood in the box and staining it with a red stain.

So here come the few pics I have with explanations.

Here is the finished steering column and steering wheel. Also the RidePro controls for the air bags is just sitting on the seat until we can find a good mounting spot....no holes in dash or anything!

I tried to capture this project like you do with yours....didn't turn out that way! I have used your journals to adjust my door latchs ect. thanks.

We are happy with the way it has turned out, now were thinking about what to do next

Wheels, blower, paint...the list just never ends

Great job.I don't have any luck taking progress pics,I always forget to take them lol.

That should make a ton of difference in the handling and performance of your truck.Looks great too

It rides and handles absolutely great! It also transfers the power to the road instantaniously! I couldn't believe the difference, feels like a 5:56 rearend now!

Question....looking for ideas! If you look at my interior pictures you see that wide ugly black weather stripping/rubber trim or whatever you call it. What can I use to finish off the interior that won't look so out of place?

Any ideas welcome!

Easy...we took the bed off the chassis

I mentioned I was not very good at the photo journal thing! We took it off right after we welded the C-Notch...I know pretty stupid but I thought I could get away with touchup on the chassis until I tried that

You mean that black windlace around the doors, right?

I plan on covering mine with whatever vinyl/leather I do the interior with -- wrap the round part and hand-stich it (that'll look killer! Then glue the vinyl to the flat part and wrap it around ... you know?
