with the tank behind the seat you may experience a warmer cab. depending on which system you use, unused fuel from injection goes back to tank warmed up from going through the system. you may want to rethink the warm fuel behind your butt theory. just saying. up to you in the end.

It would be noisy, EFI pumps do make noise and it would be a constant hum behind you getting outer as the fuel dropped, that and having high pressure fuel behind the seat would be scary for me.

I don't know of anyone making EFI tanks for behind the seat. You would have to retro fit a pump and pump hanger for it. You could use an external EFI pump and plumb in under the floor, that way you keep the stock tank. You would have to use a corvette filter/regulator so you not end up with a return to the tank. You should be able to do that for under the $350

Re: 59 Apache gas tank

why not use the stock tank and frame mounted pump with a return line going into the gas filler neck?
if you existing tank is in good condition and you want a behind the seat tank, the oem tank is your only option

Re: 59 Apache gas tank

You might try the marine world for an alternative option. Marine apps sometimes use a reservoir connected to the mechanical engine pump. The reservoir has a float which prevents overfilling by the mechanical pump, and a high pressure pump to circulate fuel through the fuel injectors and back to the reservoir. I used one in my '67 Chevelle for several years.
