Re: Change of plans

Lurker Alert.........

Coronas56, I love you. You have no idea how long I have been looking for pictures like that. I have a 59' 3100, I have the C4 conversion for the front, all the C4 components and I also need to step the rear (for a 9").

Your photos, just gave me the confidence to actually install.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Corornas 56,

What are youre plans with the 9 inch rear end set-up that you were originally going to install? Did you already sell it?

Re: Change of plans

i would put it under if it will fit, that way it will be easy to change to fine tune the suspension and less risk of it hitting the bottom of the bed when the suspension compresses

Re: Change of plans

Well It's almost winter is here in Minnesota, I got this far on my chassis, well its in primer......x member is built. a few things to finish. But here I am in winter thinking again, I don't work on it during the cold. Thinking of starting on another 56 chassis, using my F@rd 9 inch in rear with vette up front. Don't know if the vette rear end will handle 500 horses.....Haven't told the wife yet, she already think I am nuts.........Did the camaro sub, on one. Have about 50 hours on this one...........Just ramblin, what do you guys think? Anyone running vette supension?

Re: Change of plans

that is just awesome looking, as for the horsepower, it should handle it, a friend of mine had just under 500 horse and it did alright, but who knows, i am not 100% sure, either way the handling and ride on this one would be sic.

Thanks Nuke, It's not a heavy duty Vette rear end, I have gone this far, and always seem to be back peddling......Maybe I just like starting over, Like the movie ground hog day........

Well the chassis looks great! why not finish the truck so you can actually enjoy it, you could keep building different frame configurations for the rest of your life and never get a chance to cruise the truck. Another thought is that you could build frames for people who don't have the skills and then you would be able to scratch the fabrication itch and you wouldn't be missing out on any play time with the truck.

Re: Change of plans

Looks good, I was going to go that way for a long time and might yet.

Boy howdy am I ever glad to see that there is someone with one of these trucks that changes horses in the middle of the stream more than I do.
