Aluminum Radiator

I've been thinking of putting an aluminum radiator in my 56 to increase the cooling ability. Has anyone done this and how does it work? Also, where did you buy the radiator and what will I be looking at for a price range?

I am putting one in my 56. It's an Afco aluminum radiator. Gonna custom fab the bracketry and such. Will put out photos later when I get to that stage.

They do make custom-fit aluminum radiators that are straight bolt-ins for our trucks. They do cost more though. I got mine for under $200. Custom fits usually cost almost double. Just shop around.....good luck!

Great! It will be a couple of weeks before I'm to that point so I'll be looking forward to the photos. Just mounted the steering column today. Looks like I'll need to get a steering shaft with u-joints. Won't be long before she's on the road...

Is the aluminum radiator you're installing in your truck a cross-flow type? I'm curious if this type of system is better than the standard factory radiator.
