65 2 ton

going to look at a 65 ton sitting in a barn this week supposedly rust free just wont run has a good bed and hoist on it he wants scrap price so my question is anyone know how much one weighs? I was gonna offer $400 i want for the cab and he has a title for it also

Depending on the length of the bed and what it is made out of, I'm going to say it will weigh about 8000# If I remember correctly my '63 C60 without a bed weight around 5800-6000#

WOW at $250 a ton that would be $1000 for that truck, scrap iron prices are killing us

Yeah but $250 a ton is more than likely the #1 prepared price. Prepared as in cut up to size requirements. If he takes the whole truck in for scrap, they aren't going to give him $250 a ton for it.

I just heard this afternoon that scrap prices in this area are coming down quickly.

Yea I didn't think about that being #1 prices, Glad they don't bring that much at the scrapper.
