new doors for 72 have threads in holes for door panel clips?

1972 C10 restored, the new doors are after market repos purchased new, the problem is that when I went to install the door panels the clips will not fit into the holes on the door because the doors have threaded nuts attached on the back side?
I checked my old doors and the don't have threaded nuts?
I checked the receipt and the doors say 1972 doors?

has anyone run into this and what did you do?

I'm guessing either drill them out or find smaller diameter door panel clips but they will need a big head to still attach to the door panel

Do your doors have the hole under the wing window on the inside? (where the arrow is pointing) If not they may not be '72 doors.

You can probably find smaller clips with the big head. Try NAPA if you have one close.

Yes the doors have that hole near the wing window as shown in your pictures. I called the supplier, classic industries and they said the door is specific for 72 models... They are looking into it and are going to call me back.

At this point the restoration is complete so I will try to find smaller diameter clips that will work with both the door panel mount and smaller threaded holes in the door skin.

They can't be specific to '72 if they have weld nuts in the door panel mounting holes....

Try drilling out the threaded nut to the size of the insert. The AM doors could be generic to 67-72 models.
