Remanufactured Engine Codes

Not long ago I posted that I had checked the block casting number on our old truck and found that it had a 1972 block in it. This was kinda upsetting to me because when we bought the truck the PO told us that it had a brand new crate motor in it with less than 5,000 miles on it. I wasn't really worried about it because the motor ran fine.

This weekend we finally pulled the motor out of the truck and I found a metal tag on the side of the block with "Remanufacture No. Y200802" stamped on it.

So, now I'm thinking that this is a 1972 block that was refurbished. I'm wondering if it's possible to take this Remanufacture No. and try to figure out when it was rebuilt and by whom.

For what it's worth, the PO said he bought the motor direct from the local Chevrolet Dealership.
