Hhhhmmmm, brake hose problems, with swapping rearends. . . . .

OK, I have a 1969 SWB C10. I am getting ready to swap in a 1972 rear end to get ready for my soon comming front disk swap. As I was getting ready to run the new brake lines to the wheel cylinders, I see that the rear brake rubber hose is diffrent from my 69 style. I looked in the Raybestos book, and sure as heck, it is a diffrent part number.

SO I guess what I need is a picture of how this rear brake hose is set-up on a 72 truck, so I can finish running my steel lines.

Here is what I'm up agaist. Thanks for any, and all help.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding the question but, the "L" shaped bracket bolted to the pumpkin cover in the last pic is where the 72 rubber hose attaches and your hard lines to the wheel cylinders tee off that.

Ok, do I have the bracket mounted correctly in my last picture? The picture was taken with the "top" of the rearend facing me in the picture.

Can anyone with a 71/72 C10 get me a picture of your rearend? How your current lines are ran, and a side shot of where the rear brake hose attaches? Thanks.

My 69 has that " L" bracket mounted on the rear end cover.

I put a 72 rear end in my 71 and had the same problem you have. The only difference is my bracket is on the front side of the axle tube where your is on the rear of the tube . I took a grinder and grinded the welds and removed the bracket and welded it to the 72 rear end.

Give into the temptation. Buy a MIG welder. Remove those horrible old U-bolts & weld it up all nice & pretty (& permanent). You will be glad you did. I will be doing my daily driver this weekend. I have many splices from cutting out the ugly heat creating thingy.

I welded my first muffler on last night. My neighbor's was completely severed from rot. Piece of cake. Ok, it was old & RUSTY & nasty from old welds, but welded decently & braced nicely. Should last many moons.
