94-up buckets/console leg room increased or decreased?

Those of you that have them, whats your thoughts?
I was going to stay original with my 72, but that seat just feels like Im riding in a bus, and I need more leg room, and when I jump in my buddies 96 burb its so comfy, Im curious how much difference will it make to convert to the newer stuff. If it comes to it, I'll relocate the tank

I have the 60/40 in my '69. They sat too high so I cut about 1 3/4" out of the brackets. That mostly increased the head room. With the fuel tank in the original location the top of the seat back, when slid back, just touches the rear of the cab. I really don't think the later seat increased leg room though.

if you want more leg room get a 96burb!! eveen with moving the gastank out of the cab there's not going to be a great increase in legroom

I have aftermarket seats and I'm pretty cramped IMO. No tank, and seats all the way back. I would have it farther back if I could and I'm 5'7".

There's a silver '69 that has been featured in Classic Truck Magazine, that has been stretched 6-inches in the cab and doors. After that, he moved the dash back toward the seat, by the same measurement. It's a very subtle change and gives us some much-needed room. But, it's not cheap to do, and takes more than a weekend to accomplish.

As for me, I'm should be a bit taller, for my weight. I'm getting rid of the stock steering wheel, and going to a smaller diameter Grant. I'll never get to where I need to be, weight wise. But, that's my problem. Tilt column would be nice, too.
