Fiberglass Repair

Where can I get some good info or instructions on fiberglass repair. I need to repair my Blazers rear hatch. Nothing major, a few cracks and a couple of holes. I could take it to a boat shop but then I dont learn anything doing that. Posted this on the Paint & Body board but almost no traffic on that over there.

I fixed my hatch like this. Here's a quick overview. Picked up a repair kit at local auto supply. I V notched the cracks and cut strips of fiberglass then used rubber gloves and dipped the strips into the resin/hardner mix and layered many pieces to make the repair thick. after it dries sand and finish. There is also a filler with fiberglass called "kitty hair" that might help.
Good Luck
