lol, i guess maybe it wasnt clear

to be honest, i never looked if they were 16's or 16.5", but all i know is they should be 8 lug

the burb already has brand new 265 tires, so i just want to remove the running boards and get new wheels to replace those ugly hubcaps

theres alot of options for aftermarket wheels in 15 x 8's, but in 16's or 16.5's is there just as may options?

Plenty of 16's, I'd stay away from the 16.5" wheels, very limited selection.

Re: 91 3/4 ton 4x4 wheel options?

I'd go 16" or 17" depending on how they look. I'd also echo the 16.5" and stay away. Just a funky, limited size.

91' 2500 burb is a very unique, special one. It's the only year in the 3/4 suburban with the 4L80 tranny (4 speed). 90' and older had the 3 speed, TH400 I believe. Sweet score!

Re: 91 3/4 ton 4x4 wheel options?

Agreed, there are plenty of 8 lug 16" wheel options out there, but avoid 16.5" as tires are harder to find, more expensive, and in the case that your tire is ran at low pressure, either by accident (with a leaking tire) or on purpose (offroad) you are more likely to lose a bead due to the missing safety bead on most 16.5" wheels.

Re: 91 3/4 ton 4x4 wheel options?

Factory fit was a 16" wheel wrapped in LT235/85R16 "E" rated tires
Upping to a 17" wheel, an LT265/70R17 "E" rated tire is the closest thing you can get to keep the speedo from being too far outta wack.

60 mph indicated is 59.3 actual running the 265/70r17's

My 17" wheels

Machined silver 17" ones go for $2-300 chrome 17" go for$3-500 usually. I've owned 3 sets. The limited edition 20" ones usually go closer to $1000.

Re: 91 3/4 ton 4x4 wheel options?

The Hummer wheels look great on a Sub. Stay away from any 16.5 wheels, there's not much choice at all in that tire size anymore and the prices have gone up.

Edit to add - great score. I hope to add a square Sub to my fleet someday.

Craigslist! I don't have any yet for my V2500, but I've been searching CL. You can get singles for $75-100; or a set without tires $300-400. Buy a set with used tires for $500 and up. Tires for these Hummers are $300 each.... I will probably buy a set with worn tires, and buy one new tire as money comes available..... This truck will not be driven daily

I got these off Craigslist for $600. That was for all 5 ! Front tires have some wear, rears are very good and spare was run a few miles. I'm going to get the newer lug nuts and the chrome Chevrolet center caps off Ebay.
