68 Brake Booster Repalce

What all has to be removed to get access to the bolts holding on the brake booster??

I have the seat out, for other reasons, and removed the parking brake lever. There still is very little access to one bolts, can barely see another and have yet to see the last two. HELP

Re: 68 Brake Booster Repalce

I believe they are welded to a bracket from the inside. If you are just removing/replacing the booster assembly, all you have to do is remove the nuts from the engine compartment side and remove the booster. The bolts are fixed in place, so no wrench is required from the inside.

Crap. Looks like I am going to have a problem then. My booster is directly mounted to firewall.

Well We have a problem that is not a 1968 Firewall or a 1967 that is a 1960--66 fire wall or a 1973 and above Cus i can't see the main connector for the front light harness or thye engine harness No it would have to be a 1955--66 chevy truck I have a 1965 3/4 ton all i did was took a 1967--72 brake booster off of another truck with bracket there are two bolts that are already there take just the bracket off the booster or leave it on so you can use a magic marker to put a dot where you need to drill your two remaining holes

It seems like we have a dummy in the mist that Bolted the booster to the fire wall and it really makes things very hard to stop the truck See there is a Leaver between the booster and the Wall there are 2 rods the booster has NB#1 and the pedal Rod is nb#2 one bolts to thetop and that one is from the booster the lower one is from the pedal Best off for you to do is you need to go look at a 1969 -- 1972 chevy trucks the power brake option was a major Option in 1968 cus i have a 1968 Long horn with a 396 400 trans with AC and power steering But NO power brake So best that i can say you need to find any one with a 1967--72 chevy truck that has the power booster

you have one dangerous truck on your hands and all i can say is your brakes mean everything to you and your freedom Manslaughter is a nasty charge when you modify your truck and what ever state you live in Be very Careful

sorry to be extreme about it but you run over a Kid your life is OVER
