New Camaro

It has been a long time since I owned one, but my first 3 cars were '69 Camaros. The first one was a SS/RS.
I have wanted one since the new body was introduced and I finally pulled the trigger last Saturday. This thing is amazing, really. The whole touch screen system has as much going on as a smart phone, it even has it's own phone number.

No SS on this time, but it does have the RS package.

Re: New Camaro

I really don't know why people say you can't see out of them? Maybe they should drive an HHR panel for a while.....or learn to use mirrors

Re: New Camaro

Congrats, it looks very nice -- I bet it's a blast to drive! My third car (first new car) was a '68 RS. Wife had a '68 base Camaro when I met her, and by then I had a new '71 RS. I haven't driven one in many years and it's probably just as well -- the last thing I need is another car. Enjoy!!

No Mike, I traded it in. I have had so many letters in the last year from local dealers looking to buy it....I finally gave in.

Re: New Camaro

Where's the "like" button?

I love the narrower grill they put on the car a year or two ago, makes it look meaner... the "new" taillights are growing on me...

Gorgeous cars. Have fun with it!

Re: New Camaro

Congrats..
I bought my wife a 14 2SS/RS Black on Black with the full infotainment system for Mothers day. YES, these cars are amazing to say the least. Visibility is fine, but a will say the rear view camera is very helpful.
The technology in this car is crazy. It will give me weather reports and radar as I'm zipping down the highway.

It's out there...still with the HHR plates, for now. Stop me if you see me, I am always willing to BS with board members. That's how I met Andy (Longhornman). Chase Bank on Broad st.

mmiddle, I know what you mean, the infotainment system is very sophisticated. Mine is a 1LT/RS, it has the premium sound system, but not the back-up camera. I drove one with it, but found it un-nerving. I backed it into the space it came out of, toward another car. As I got closer it started flashing at me, but I didn't trust it enough to get any closer....to see whatelse would happen. As it turns out, I would have gotten closer with the mirrors alone.
It has all of the other "my link" stuff though, weather reports, maps, etc., a car with it's own phone number is a little trippy.

They do leave out the height challanged, only way I fit in my 3rd gen Firebird is to remove the lower plastic dash covers or my feet don't fit enough to work the clutch n brake right. Seeing wires n junk isn't that great though.

Re: New Camaro

I've never looked at one close. Is there any room for people in the back seat, does it even have a back seat? Maybe fold down rear seats so you can get all the way in the trunk?

Re: New Camaro

I have an 11 mustang, I'm only 5'8" and I sit with the seat all the way back, which literally leaves zero room in the back set. Maybe a small kid could fit back there. 4 adults on a road trip would not be a fun road trip...

Re: New Camaro

At 6' 2" I have no problem with fitting in it. I do have the seat as low as it goes though. It does have rear seats, while I wouldn't want to sit back there, it would be ok for a smaller person. Yes, the seats do fold down and the trunk is huge....it's just the the opening is not so great.

A 6 speed automatic takes some getting used to also, never drove one before. The paddle shifters are a bit different too, but I like them.
