Re: front axle 8 lug

You may want to reconsider using the auto hubs as they are not all that reliable...especially in the colder climates

Re: front axle 8 lug

I hear that alot,,, I run a set on my 89 v2500 for ~600k miles and never had an issue.

With my Dentside, even with high pinion 44, the drive shaft angle is steep and not good at highway speeds. This is not a wheeling truck,, but in the snow ice it is nice to engage 4wd when needed and disengage when on the highway.

If you go for a 10 bolt--try to get a later model out of a suburban as they will have a 30 spline inner shafts instead of the early 27s. With the 30 spline inners the 10 bolts are actually a little stronger than the D44s

May be a little late on this, but Jalopy Jungle on State and Garden City both have square body's with 8 lug fronts as of a week ago. 10 bolt and D44.
I just grabbed a D44 and 14B myself.
If you feel like doing the whole pull it yourself thing.
