couple questions guys

hey, ssomeone close by has a 4x4 70 3/4 ton suburban for sale, he said he won it in a raffle from a first aid squad, 350 4 speed low gears only rust is on bottom of rear quarters panels, been re painted once stored inside most of life, he has added 3 inch springs and new tires and wheels, i know without pics its hard to give a estimate as to what yall may think its worth but give it a shot, ohh and it only has 23,000 miles on it. all glass is great condtion has barn doors and the squad couldnt find the rear seat, but front seat has no tears or rips. sooo what would yalls guess as to whats it worth? thanks tony

Re: couple questions guys

5000$ for the low miles, + 1250$ each for 3/4 ton and Barn door options.

total value 7500$.

I am biased to 3/4 tons with barn doors.

pictures would help a lot but I assume it is good driveable shape.

life is good,kent

Re: couple questions guys

At the Shriners swap meet this spring I saw a 95 % perfect 72 Suburban, 2 wd , rebuilt 402, newer paint, perfect interior, dealer air. $5600 and no real interest. This was for a NICE BB truck.

I would price it at 35oo-4ooo tops, and only because it has super low mileage, otherwise it would only be worth a couple thousand to me?

Re: couple questions guys

I bought a rust bucket 72 Burb that needs rockers, doors, a little floor work all the usual for 150.00 with a title, I bought a 4x4 72,the body was junk (tree fell on it) gears, 205 T.C., 350 turbo, 4 almost new tires and frame in good shape for 500.00 I have a rebuilt 350 (1200)

You do the math, I would look for a better deal if you plan on cutting it up anyway

Re: couple questions guys

I think I bought a raffle ticket for that truck... :-) There was a thread here a while back, search for it you may find more info on the truck, if it is the same one.

I wish it were closer. Not that I have money or space.

Re: couple questions guys

I would pass..I seen one in almost restored condition running and driving for 5k, and he couldn't get a bite. I bought mine for 600, usual rust spots and needs a motor but nothing too expensive. after all body work and motor I should have no more than 2k into it. just a thought..

Re: couple questions guys

Only thing I can say is whatever your project is it is so much easier when its not a rust bucket to begin with. Even if I was going to cut it all up I would still start with a rust free body if I could. $8500 does seem high but $4-5000 would be a decent price up here in the rust belt where I'm at.

Re: couple questions guys

I recently saw a 12000 mile retired civil service 4x4 burb with fresh paint needing nothing sell on Ebay for $6000. I thought it was cheap, but it seems that there are alot of really good deals available during the recession.

Re: couple questions guys

well, i gave him an offer and guess ill wait and see what happens from here, i agree about starting with rust free as possible always makes a restore go faster. with only 23,000 miles on the 350 4 speed, inside is spotless, minus the rear seat tho. im thinking i probally wont get it for my offer, but after adding up everything ill need for the crewcab converstion, ill have right much invested. but i love the way those things look.
