Which one, Stepside SWB Truck or Blazer Opinions Please?

Hello All, If you had the option of buying a 1972 SWB Stepside truck or 1972
4x4 Blazer which one would you buy? They both are in good condition, nice paint, 350 engines, good original condition, auto tranny, nice drivers. Each are about the same in price. Am I comparing apples to oranges here? Or is it a matter of personal preferences? Resell value? (not that I would ever re-sell either of them) I would appreciate everyones opinion. Thank you.

What's there to decide? Buy them both.

It really comes down to what are YOU looking to buy it for. If you want to work it, go with the PU. A blazer is worthless for anything but groceries and pulling a trailer of your stuff.

If you're just looking for something to add to your collection, does it matter?

I would buy the Blazer 'cause I already have a truck. In your case assuming you have neither, I'd say get the truck first (if you plan to haul stuff rather than people) and add a Blazer later.
However, if you already have a truck (or plan to haul people rather than stuff) then get the Blazer.

Re: Which one, Stepside SWB Truck or Blazer Opinions Please?

An early blazer in my neighborhood is what first turned me on to the 67-72 gen.

I was looking at early broncos before getting the truck. But I what I needed was an enclosed cab for the winter, and a truck bed for hauling without stuff flying into my eyes. And I didn't need the 4x4. I just needed a pickup for it's utility..

BUT, I have a convertible mustang for cruisin. If I had to choose just one vehicle the 72 Blazer would be awesome.

Well, if they are both pretty much rust free, and utility is not a major concern, and this is mostly a toy... I'd go for the blazer. Rust free/low rust blazers are getting real hard to find... in comparison, the trucks are a dime a dozen.
If it was a 2 wheel drive Blazer I'd say GO, NOW, BUY.

Id say get the Blazer while you have the chance... if down the line you ever decide the itch to get a truck too, you will be able to find one on the cheap easier than a blazer

Re: Which one, Stepside SWB Truck or Blazer Opinions Please?

I have 2 Blazers, and if I had the money I would buy more (Blazers) I keep
finding them but I just can't afford to buy em or store em, I am already in
talks w/ my builder to add on to my house since a shop on my property is
not very feasable, I have the approval to go from a 2 car to a 3 car, but I
am trying to get her to go from a 2 car to at least a 4, 5 or hell even 6
