Corvette motor question

So picked up a 50 ad half ton which I see now is going to be a project. Truxk.has a vette motor and trans. Has a painless wire harness. Truck runs well but no lights at all! No headlights nor taillights. Dumb question.. how do I wire this..get a separate fuse panel and wire that up independent of the factory and painless wiring? Thanks

Re: Corvette motor question

Doesn't sound like a Corvette engine issue at all It sounds like gotta find the right wiring diagram for the wiring kit that is in the truck and sit down and study it.

Link to painless wiring manuals http://www.painlessperformance.com/manual

Take a good high quality photo of the fuse panel and someone might be able ID it and shorten the search a bit. Hopefully the guy who put it together just got it running and quit and it is simple this wire goes here and this wire goes there and oh look the lights work deal.

Re: Corvette motor question

I didn't get under the dash much as I had to work but I didn't see a fuse panel other than the one connected to the wiring of the vette brain and harness. Guess I need to look closet under dash I suppose.

Re: Corvette motor question

I swear there is absolutely nothing on the firewall original. If it's not there..what's my options? Sorry for the basic questions..I assume a basic wiring panel.

Re: Corvette motor question

there's a lot more to it than just hooking up a bunch of wires...I'd suggest getting a good quality replacement harness...that way all your truck wiring will be new and updated..not a rotten bunch of necked wires..and the unknown.....you say a vett engine but I don't know if your referring LS or smallblock
is the painless harness just for the engine or the whole truck?
